181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto Accesibilidad a las playas de Gibraltar Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_40401085991_o sector-juego-online-ladboke-gibraltar-02_9225058606_o 2g9a9364_48907565213_o img_0022_43202810694_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-29_17157056977_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-37_17362589882_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-81_29331731022_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-6_24793081170_o img_9898_21441944136_o university-31_39633680661_o strongmen-201337_10019173926_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876482801_o img_9439_27252736267_o img_0202_41972493250_o 7u3a9658_49901121107_o 2g9a1161_48952142001_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131161872_o cof img_5126_48919599566_o img_0262-1_45106517114_o img_4128_31960326238_o img_0118_45106524914_o img_1205_36605129570_o img_9806_31008313768_o img_2367_44585495712_o img_0816_39737051875_o 08-may-2017-25visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895390984_o img_2685_24884718259_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_30656124643_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31349012321_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834024025_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-3_26935103895_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-50 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26613215941_o 2g9a0306_26345444944_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
