A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0437_45202142115_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013_9703173486_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival18_15145428146_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0145_15253268370_o intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_29024011288_o 2g9a4966_48874961001_o festival-literario-gibraltar18_10496853286_o La-verja-vista-desde-Gibraltar partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-04_14755675155_o gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-12_12864666923_o img_9587_42077109932_o 7u3a5760_49425344513_o img_5869_49086444961_o 7u3a5253_49336227218_o gib-view-3_27855876129_o Mezquita-1 P1080682 2g9a0573_48919597281_o 2g9a8341_32759671228_o 7U3A2458 img_2394_44635569021_o img_2411-2_30765502368_o img_5330_41421440735_o img_3541_36982597513_o img_0590_36311364382_o actividades-paralelas-al-open-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_31880160983_o img_0604_36479627585_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-11_33659896883_o 2g9a5862_31077419606_o_31114930505_o img_2304_36765364410_o 2g9a5884_30746417400_o_31001134981_o 2g9a5364_30845260892_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-28_30874575701_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565268005_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-8_26142218492_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-03_15756652400_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 31-de-mayo-ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho26_14129417778_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde01_13581170015_o 2g9a9621_27839969556_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-62_21300632845_o 2519-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20520676260_o img_7814_21110463350_o img_8595_21133829060_o img_8600_21295354426_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4011_17381634474_o
