A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-music-festival-2013-level-42_9699889619_o img_0722_21597082995_o 2g9a0527_26757817882_o img_4619_31174602057_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_25004410387_o La-frontera-cerrada-vista-desde-Espana-con-numerosas-personas-agolpadas-para-poder-ver-a-sus-seres-queridos.-Fotografia-de-Gibraltar-Chronicle 7u3a9611_49900813316_o P1080663 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-17 2g9a6797_48204161667_o 2g9a8305_46634164461_o img_4506_48714143681_o 2g9a8314_46581738572_o img_4734_48713815358_o img_3834_45106519544_o img_3960_45831064451_o img_8955_38363726131_o_38310547566_o img_9512_29664841297_o img_2024_36212882203_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_7269_34736879406_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-36_31299666194_o 2g9a6028_31113411055_o_30294465054_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-67_25326919029_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-29_30243926413_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876084911_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939774144_o img_5341_29370326192_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26652395266_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25125252519_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24619511350_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_25920754483_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-14_9292101926_o 2015_09_14__0214_21235859138_o 19-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20708699935_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-05_17373380620_o La Línea de la Concepción, 25 septiembre 2013.
