Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech restauracin-cementerio-witham-1_25384702571_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. los-macacos-de-berbera-smbolo-inequvoco-de-gibraltar_22118329403_o Schoolchildren and parents were made to wait to cross the road on the Gibraltar side over 20-30 minutes at a time as Spanish border controls forced the authorities in Gibraltar to implement traffic controls. The delays were caused by The Policia Nacional holding pedestrian back from crossing to their Customs zone. cola-peatonal-salida-de-gibraltar-23072015-03_19963911885_o img_3744_34086395152_o img_0377_44297009210_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez24_12102517626_o img_9947_43202780524_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9699827313_o 7u3a9494_49597578211_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho11_14292949546_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-26_28386233849_o apes-1_38925510934_o royal-engineers-2_25762658148_o 2g9a4282_48230723847_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131102218_o img_0235_45106526034_o img_4564_48714310207_o img_1434_44585024602_o img_7980_44603393201_o img_9966_27319556317_o img_9556_44550413582_o img_8994_26588613049_o_38310545766_o untitled_panorama2_30729830658_o img_8847_37651003354_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163382532_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-28_34428542036_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 2g9a9163_29519593124_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-14_36750960840_o_36354891563_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-37_29495042202_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354082493_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-75_30962801355_o 2g9a7239_29750591121_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221929624_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221932184_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-29bn_21050814980_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-26_20566260613_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-26_19937357126_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-15_15918120356_o 31-de-mayo-ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho16_14129477520_o img_2764_24621614154_o img_9050_26287199510_o 2015_09_14__0020_21236011660_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-30_20757940895_o Kingston-34 BP200031
