Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 2g9a9970_48907838126_o 4-oct-2017-cm-y-representantes-de-gibraltar-en-cuarta-comisin-de-naciones-unidas-11_23803451518_o img_3800_34086384292_o img_0437_45202142115_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9699807881_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival05_14981717367_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 7u3a6456_49454013878_o 2017-Military-Heritage img_9949_20845377044_o 2g9a0245_48801426137_o Endangered-Animals strongmen-201349_10019090915_o changing-of-the-guard-the-convent-0425_39633949901_o Caleta-y-Playa Monos-en-la-ciudad-2 img_9857_25762443438_o 2g9a8440_46634160291_o img_0283-1_45106517524_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-88_38515439352_o img_9908_40383758430_o img_9917_42144420212_o img_2409_40800642252_o el-viceministro-principal-joseph-garca_38334710902_o img_9951_36311274582_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354088643_o 2g9a5796_32383640900_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-64_29314653210_o 2g9a5196_30873092651_o 11-de-noviembre-2016-concurso-cyber-centurion-en-gibraltar-8_30828771561_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565268005_o img_5130_29399681391_o img_9514_26286176570_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-77_20999225390_o festival-internacional-de-la-cancin-de-gibraltar_17504674391_o desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-gibraltar06_9858756285_o 2g9a9800_27773284012_o 2g9a1710-1_27170661451_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
