turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-115_22756710991_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-479_22123930803_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703058520_o img_8868_20147019981_o img_2607_45564828981_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0165_15251988039_o 2g9a4966_48874961001_o festival-literario-gibraltar22_10497032213_o 2g9a0285_48801427107_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-16_19882330006_o 2g9a0959_48806101981_o img_4203_20919800278_o img_9554_42077116202_o 7u3a5827_49425820421_o 2g9a1991_49049019336_o alameda-gardens-12_24765500227_o sdr 2g9a5939_48204605931_o img_1925_26967034628_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-24_47697575541_o img_0203_28318273308_o img_0276_45106514584_o img_9202_24493827438_o_24494935818_o img_9774_44160761014_o img_2053_36624014180_o img_0621_36479634145_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-16_30846311752_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-11_30661243030_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-39_30843307086_o gorhams-panorama2_29720268582_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-16_24823160332_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
