A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23216999332_o img_3402_34112865801_o img_3729_34086399222_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-level-42_9699891757_o img_8968_20142761145_o img_5170_34443960875_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_24862359824_o hospital-de-campaa_49727126117_o 7u3a6464_49454013508_o img_9961_20845352824_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201402_15002944724_o 2g9a3002_49093922173_o 2g9a0883_48805745403_o img_4217_21081471986_o img_9674_42123216141_o 2g9a2617_49085934638_o img_0653_38737101585_o Punta-Europa-4 2g9a2064_48705917398_o img_1540_43916089424_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-122_38515437032_o img_8935_24493372478_o_38310548226_o img_8784_39910034801_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-8_30927293336_o img_9051_37650079584_o_37651622774_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876084781_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354050513_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959235925_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978714186_o 2g9a7409_29720305742_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37168279735_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27319188552_o img_5114_29445259996_o a-dsc_0224_18816058093_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
