This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 25-noviember-2014-cola-de-salida-gibraltar-11_15881854262_o cola-peatonal-salida-de-gibraltar-23072015-02_19341248914_o javier-santivez-per_14033458704_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival20_15168446215_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-33_17364516915_o img_6693_35154397740_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25576702420_o img_0496_22928194391_o 1300th-Anniversary-of-Tariq-ibn-Ziyad 2g9a9516_50032088888_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876185441_o 7u3a0034_50032693941_o img_6405jkjkh_24764474817_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-27 img_9639_39633864651_o jumpers-bastion-3_38924863084_o st-michaels-cave-8_38925215754_o img_5231_48919070668_o img_4129_45831046611_o img_9774_44160761014_o img_1429_29696623917_o img_1637_30765335948_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354047593_o img_9892_36311270832_o 2g9a5796_32383640900_o 2g9a6034_30306765703_o_31078855446_o 2g9a6109_30999545231_o_30747657730_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770640400_o 11-de-noviembre-2016-concurso-cyber-centurion-en-gibraltar-8_30828771561_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978712556_o 2g9a9306_29373760242_o 2g9a9779_29481270825_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799734226_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417181635_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26088169901_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-75bn_21050823460_o 2g9a8726_51682128440_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
