A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. img_3996_16235880376_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival08_14464515845_o img_7584_35347377990_o img_0437_45202142115_o img_0561_22498812538_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9699855265_o university-panorama-2_21281104679_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201407_15624542462_o img_4708_44297315680_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876333231_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho18_14314253862_o 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-13_16266652797_o strongmen-201347_10019105305_o 7u3a9567_49901122127_o P1080702 shipping-7_39603071682_o img_8855_37650988014_o img_3017_44603357301_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-58_31331038023_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_39893135221_o img_0184_36082739060_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-8_36750962720_o_37027017721_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-34_33659898213_o img_2190_36326576034_o 2g9a6164_30746392100_o_31001127511_o img_2254_36349059223_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-46_30846288462_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-37_30843307666_o 2g9a9425_29481565135_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9739_27773269662_o img_8883_24373491702_o img_2486_24795647290_o DEF0D81 2g9a0162_26346466583_o img_3732_20737709179_o panorama_gibraltar-6_21397248376_o gibraltar-national-day_013_9716533541_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-19_21300693535_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4238_17817964519_o 9-mayo-2014-visita-a-gibraltar-del-secretario-de-estado-britnico-daniel-alexander-con-ocasin-del-da-de-europa_14164927411_o z-image4_50825359241_o Gibraltar to host European Showdance Championships 2015 rueda-de-prensa-resolucin-comisin-ue03_10967804283_o
