A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-23_9222392151_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar03_14803151458_o 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar05_14966768396_o 25-noviember-2014-cola-de-salida-gibraltar-02_15696482999_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival21_14464408155_o img_0491_32242285488_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival36_15168396625_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii85_21216360865_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26902335626_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-76_28818132243_o 2018-Calpe-House 7u3a6446_49454014038_o img_4161_20920976629_o 2g9a0331_48801427832_o commonwealth-park-13_24765485867_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876293921_o img_3044_40937838241_o img_9463_28250762628_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-13_30801729144_o img_0131_28844746637_o 2g9a6117_30999771781_o_31001139001_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-35 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-67_25326919029_o img_4024_48699323163_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-5_30846389752_o 2g9a0584_48919805282_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-3_30880606196_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163382622_o 2g9a7210_29833208615_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-106_38547066391_o img_7886_23578624414_o img_2190_36326576034_o a-dsc_0235_18816051603_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
