A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar19_10382443634_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival18_14463206612_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival06_14461013101_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival49_15167960052_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii21_21029703919_o hospital-de-campaa_49726813971_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25782339931_o 2g9a8323_48875082686_o 2g9a0675_48806098961_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002356088_o 2g9a0933_48805747558_o 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho06_14311154114_o la-tv-alemana-zdf-graba-un-reportaje-en-gibraltar-michael-petch-zdf_25757766450_o img_5755_49086658797_o 2g9a1979_49049022991_o devils-tongue-2_27855539039_o royal-engineers-1_39633211141_o img_3060_26064767037_o rita-ora-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-117_43072425560_o img_3210_40937380191_o img_3231_40895450802_o img_3336_40895442492_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-40_31531498352_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-87_29314632820_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026137421_o 2g9a4548_30879149156_o 2g9a7303_29750654571_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417178195_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26679027995_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-15_24941101505_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24286854364_o a-dsc_6021_19248878140_o salvas-celebrando-nacimiento-real-3_9351223099_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9919_27840052986_o 2g9a2024_26964556450_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-67_9289015661_o gibraltar-national-day_012_9716535015_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-06_20569982788_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-07_17374625499_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day66_15201070942_o 024_19691210533_o THE EARL OF WESSEX VISITS HER MAJESTY’S NAVAL BASE
