conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_25529331017_o cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22718570896_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Line Wall Road Polling station where tensions were high at one point this morning) - Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_45467657202_o 20150911_151438431_ios_22730430662_o 7u3a9827_50032742561_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23217075342_o img_0041_43921148921_o img_9024_20142712895_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25400097571_o img_0722_21597082995_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201402_15002944724_o 11-expo_frontera img_0062_41972487710_o img_9560_28250748498_o img_0253_43064742354_o Alameda-18 2g9a5356_48725847188_o img_0734_28129695369_o 2g9a5941_48204605856_o img_9149_37650280124_o_38310538586_o 2g9a4627_48713813848_o img_1527_36880225491_o 2g9a9237_29852392220_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318398272_o 2g9a6136_30746380500_o_31114931735_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-8_30280656633_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-2_26168373991_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29845564012_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26154507635_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-42_24314267883_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24821641881_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24288110083_o 2g9a9664_27262508043_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
