Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez10_12101888315_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival31_14981751600_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868059961_o 2016-100th-Anniversary-Battle-of-the-Somme img_0476_22498822457_o 2g9a2980_49094629367_o 2g9a0309_48801282011_o 2012-International-Jazz-Festival 2g9a0864_48806100741_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-17_13967065239_o 7u3a9566_49901122137_o img_5742_49086658957_o evacuation-monument-0487_27856103119_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-11 1_Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-12 img_5233_48919600301_o 2g9a4209_48230718357_o img_4170_45831075871_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-79_26771253999_o img_7253_34777016445_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-82_38490782596_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-22_34309886052_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-166_24674703638_o 2g9a9226_29852393150_o unled_panorama1_36832819316_o 2g9a5341_30873439931_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-17_30801727314_o img_5206_29190541150_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-3_36334779573_o_36354892693_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-02_23471115616_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354078593_o img_2917_21161547454_o img_2094_37163087715_o 2015_09_14__0193_21423739255_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde08_13581144345_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-30_20757940895_o img_7743_21306779161_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4199_18004992921_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-09_17560963205_o BP200031 7u3a1188_51681916339_o El-Real-Regimiento-de-Gibraltar-actua-de-nuevo-como-Regimiento-de-Guardia-de-la-Reina-en-Londres-20 GIB-20230506-045-Coronation Gun Salute
