140520 - Obras en la frontera de Gibraltar paisajes-la-bahia-gibraltar-01_9222264035_o 20150911_132759391_ios_22743380435_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. la-nube-de-levante-se-desliza-por-la-pista-del-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_22551395120_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-22_19468716553_o img_3367_34112846521_o img_8823_20115278926_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-22_9222677337_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii33_21216482795_o img_5317_34059171360_o 2g9a0204_48801426657_o 2g9a0968_48806101841_o cervantes-10 2012-Queens-Jubilee strongman-en-casemates_9997776303_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876173871_o strongmen-201315_10019312086_o img_9554_42077116202_o changing-of-the-guard-the-convent-0419_25762630238_o img_9636_38737419785_o P1080597 alameda-gardens-15_25762476978_o 2g9a2047_48705913448_o 2g9a2064_48705917398_o img_5310_48919596506_o 20171214_155345_24195320787_o img_9635_43969754385_o 4-europort-avenue_23521829068_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42209194861_o img_4642_23521811868_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-128_24674712258_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-5_31299676994_o actividades-paralelas-al-open-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_32651760866_o 2g9a6158_30306788763_o_31001136931_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-53_30927330836_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-59_30880561976_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-24_24645628020_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-36_24573490199_o a-dsc_5709_19430269812_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-18_15515854302_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-gibraltar03_9858751034_o desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-gibraltar11_9858739034_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26457533451_o 2g9a2004_27205708346_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
