Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. skywalk-gibraltar-2-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367549160_o img_3363_34202597316_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9699904439_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26902335566_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742375143_o img_9927_21280284778_o default 2g9a0224_48801280611_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165024434_o 26-julio-2014-partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-16_14755382422_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-09_14130562476_o img_9454_27252733487_o 1_img_0075_43733184952_o img_9646_21463206585_o 2g9a1161_48952142001_o img_7610_38925222864_o Alameda-27 P1080684 img_1265_36861662631_o 2g9a4510_48713812008_o img_2989_44603357891_o img_3335_40895442852_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-65_29314652230_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-81_26771253839_o 2g9a6168_31077375946_o_31114930955_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-133_37830965094_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-26_30763271692_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978711006_o 2g9a9365_28857722714_o untitled_panorama1_36326038974_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-11 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24180732436_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-21_20566182133_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-67_20999441478_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-06_15324305393_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26431270372_o 2g9a1705_26964555830_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26387593305_o img_3837_20301799884_o gibraltar-national-day_025_9716513891_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-03_20678040234_o img_4387_20351208560_o BP200031 img_6476-copy_20125126369_o
