A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-10_19468690063_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-02_9222656641_o img_0566_44297155450_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9703160052_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival38_14461032581_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii77_21029570499_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25576706810_o img_5297_33601840294_o img_4623_31174602427_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-4_31710620034_o 2g9a0930_48806102561_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-07_14150416851_o img_4174_20919859978_o 7u3a9667_49900297663_o 2g9a9782_50032155663_o Mezquita-21 a5f2801198b538a6ef6768746b489725 P1080625 2g9a4236_48230714537_o img_5278_41600438794_o nova-twins-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-113_44833876692_o img_1417_36833032826_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-100_38515438782_o 2g9a9449_31505852954_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-70_31765983200_o 2g9a9197_29852395480_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-36 Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-69 a-dsc_5669_19250394499_o 2g9a9626_27596425190_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201433_15813418895_o img_4506_25347483400_o 8-de-marzo-2016-reunin-de-fabin-picardo-con-miembros-del-psoe-06_25591012286_o 2g9a2013_26964555680_o 2g9a1620_27205708776_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day12_15178559496_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
