160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños 2g9a9418_48907569073_o untitled_panorama-12_19896764780_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-76_22756754281_o la-reina-isabel-ii-visit-gibraltar-en-1954-desde-este-punto-contempl-las-vistas-que-se-disfrutan-desde-la-parte-alta-del-pen_22117034024_o jason-cruz_14224975050_o festival-literario-gibraltar03_10496976336_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-08_9222660985_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-22_31742541243_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-mark-eliyahu-ensemble-09_9225481906_o img_4107_20921048099_o img_9550_28250751758_o 7u3a5074_49336224968_o 2g9a2015_49049241872_o 7u3a5266_49336226818_o cable-car-12_24765500957_o 2g9a4295_48230650731_o img_5358_48919072583_o img_3826_30891439667_o img_9447_42792484420_o 7U3A2442 20171214_112105_39025259582_o img_0201_28318274358_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026134211_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-57_25326924809_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026143651_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-2_30846324532_o img_2249_37163040685_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-38_25327022789_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876090721_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29455742862_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29531205016_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde07_13581204803_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
