A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0028_43016074105_o img_9033_19520051974_o img_0447_32242171468_o 2014-Gibraltar-Year-of-the-Horse img_9919_43921161681_o university-24_39603875022_o img_9937_43872622512_o 29-de-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho01_14308422421_o repatriacin-de-nacionales-britnicos-desde-marruecos-covid-19_49870672226_o partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-13_14732691056_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-32_39267697245_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho09_14314268312_o img_0756_20975829283_o gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-09_12865025954_o 2g9a0291_48801281146_o 2g9a8805_48826778687_o 2g9a0309_48801282011_o Alameda-22 university-22_27855821889_o img_0166-1_45106515564_o img_0254_43781195241_o img_1232_36605113180_o 2g9a1983_49048521898_o img_1537_44635085691_o 2g9a5936_48204654267_o img_0518_36599989206_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402220170_o img_2317_29697091487_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-87_24674695948_o 08-may-2017-12visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895405434_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-191_24674692458_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-64_32141123685_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36996842742_o 2g9a5306_22783048628_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-12_26935101915_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-13_24941101885_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 000-a-dsc_6114_19440964201_o a-dsc_5763_19250364569_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde09_13581251503_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201437_15627603749_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-11_21113822319_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_25918661114_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day44_15201114572_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24470816456_o
