A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-717_22730243822_o inmaculada-fotos-23112014-12_15473742493_o img_3420_34086342192_o img_8939_20134741952_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25400097061_o img_0743_20974178304_o img_9829_21476805481_o 2g9a0251_48801280246_o festival-literario-gibraltar06_10497159463_o 2g9a0331_48801427832_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-16_19882330006_o 2g9a0409_48801429222_o 2g9a8822_48826777227_o img_5829_49086445381_o Mezquita-10 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-7 the-main-guard-2_27855380119_o img_3858_30891441567_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114555172_o img_4129_45831046611_o img_5310_40516045650_o img_5314_40516047320_o img_0203_28318273308_o img_7301_34391647280_o img_3550_37604621976_o 2g9a9442_31537101713_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770641380_o 2g9a6164_30746392100_o_31001127511_o img_3871_37020599311_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-23_30962841425_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-17_30874582671_o 113238_28871991264_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26405552410_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-12_24573482099_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
