A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9940_48907835351_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-267_22557372440_o 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar13_14989737105_o img_9332_28984556927_o img_0531_44297152210_o img_5335_34313414461_o hospital-de-campaa_49726814151_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0145-bw_15253195529_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-17_23770226254_o img_0643_21410118719_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-04_9224808220_o img_4262_20919539220_o 2g9a9693_50032952867_o 7u3a9980_50032885367_o 7u3a5234_49336695886_o changing-of-the-guard-the-convent-0422_24765646687_o cruise-liners_39603813482_o Alameda-30 evacuation-monument-0484_24765697027_o img_2912_43693499065_o 2g9a4206_48230719037_o img_9058_38363878311_o_37651622304_o img_7169_34776867605_o img_0594_36082709670_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-121_29494980942_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978708796_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-11_30578376280_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026134071_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939780674_o img_2323_36349036413_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24288112763_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-03_22868944744_o 2g9a0171_26882523611_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. img_2966_25133012062_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_23870187223_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
