A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. monumento-situado-en-la-plaza-de-casemates-en-gibraltar-en-honor-a-los-gibraltareos-que-participaron-como-voluntarios-en-la-ii-guerra-mundial_22751645041_o paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-25_9225167288_o airport-0428_24765632947_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22696873034_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9703142988_o img_5170_34443960875_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25576701720_o img_9902_21281251049_o 2g9a0622_26246159094_o 2g9a0300_48801426847_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843315842_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-02_13967081647_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente31_12249601656_o strongmen-201334_10019190525_o img_0095_43733179302_o img_9650_21436980126_o img_0192_41972495360_o evacuation-monument-0483_27856104469_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114555022_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131074511_o img_5249_48919072023_o img_5445_48919595806_o img_9375_44830633282_o img_2332_26972679258_o img_7277_34736891666_o 08-may-2017-10visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895407454_o img_9912_36311395162_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-6_33659897543_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978708676_o img_2243_36973603926_o img_3738_36973651796_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-26_30846302002_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876085191_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939785774_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-6_26330689693_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
