Accesibilidad a las playas de Gibraltar desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_30577113727_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. restauracin-cementerio-witham-7_25110008999_o restauracin-cementerio-witham-13_25359117402_o paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-04_9225030914_o 2g9a9398_48907562338_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9699816029_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_24866202773_o hospital-de-campaa_49726813996_o hospital-de-campaa_49727126392_o img_4674_46113659101_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-11_14150905192_o 2g9a8344_48875082121_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_004_12193762704_o strongmen-201362_10019019885_o img_9506_41403112904_o img_9536_28250755308_o img_4238_20919762618_o 2g9a9496_50032885662_o 2g9a1146_48951598808_o main-street-0437_24765661627_o commonwealth-park-14_38925461814_o shipping-8_39632805261_o st-michaels-cave-23_27855904839_o 2g9a4226_48230715707_o img_3987_48699831597_o 2g9a4292_48230651531_o 2g9a4672_48713814483_o img_9904_40383759540_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-94_38490781956_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275181180_o 51_48203763676_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-9_26234664635_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-18_36750959630_o_37027016171_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-15_21177005692_o 1_17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_31991159620_o 31-de-mayo-ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho04_14316110555_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026150701_o 2g9a9745_27874083715_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
