A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9318_48907567023_o vistas-desde-el-castillo-moro-de-gibraltar_22740349645_o monos-en-la-ciudad-17_9222305983_o img_0497_32242282898_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar29_10382473446_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival59_15167932482_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-12_17364489585_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-36_17338550216_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 2014-Christmas-2014 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-16_29439877675_o jebel-sahara-5_23103815342_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-27_29360139141_o visita-platini-gibralar-rock-cup-2014-34_14150427661_o jebel-sahara-1-el-cnel-cte-badr-entrega-una-placa-a-la-embajadora-del-reino-unido-en-marruecos_23091556746_o img_5739_49086443586_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843225002_o Alameda-13 P1080603 dscf7806_43693487785_o 7U3A2448 img_3089_40043449575_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-162_24674704628_o img_9904_40383759540_o 08-may-2017-10visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895407454_o 2g9a9159_29519593734_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978712796_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318392602_o img_3787_36349091013_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941929293_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876084701_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799750786_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26128567376_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-20_24645629120_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-63_21161118786_o 000-crowning-dsc_6109_19410620876_o a-dsc_5763_19250364569_o a-dsc_5919_19250319129_o 2g9a9495_27839930536_o img_3543_20125269409_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26457502411_o 2g9a8735_51682129015_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-10_20135369714_o Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-2 9-mayo-2014-visita-del-secretario-de-estado-del-tesoro-britnico-daniel-alexander-con-ocasin-del-da-de-europa_14168244085_o
