A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. monos-en-la-ciudad-07_9222309277_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-654_22717456976_o img_3408_33432755753_o Schoolchildren and parents were made to wait to cross the road on the Gibraltar side over 20-30 minutes at a time as Spanish border controls forced the authorities in Gibraltar to implement traffic controls. The delays were caused by The Policia Nacional holding pedestrian back from crossing to their Customs zone. 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival15_14277715229_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-yasmin-levy-mediterranean-andalusian-orchestra-ashkelon-30_9222722493_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-49_28818197423_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-32_9225457518_o img_5238_33634014233_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-01_24372212306_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-2_19544442156_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843297092_o 2g9a1138_48952341177_o img_0156_43064729154_o 2g9a2558_49086448071_o changing-of-the-guard-the-convent-0425_39633949901_o img_0653_38737101585_o Punta-Europa-12 2g9a4259_48230656026_o img_2367_44585495712_o img_9742_44160768174_o img_5296_41600447044_o img_3027_44603357171_o img_0664_36082750900_o img_2057_36623942100_o 2g9a6143_31077394946_o_31001137941_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770640990_o 2g9a5350_30926128046_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-18_30874581751_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24619511350_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
