A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_9354_43202804944_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez07_12102293454_o concierto-de-albert-hammond-7-noviembre-201409_15553116737_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25492904535_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-30_24457974274_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_006_12193593703_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25248542833_o img_4087_21081702946_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-34_28816039084_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-25 img_2579_31692338668_o WP_20140508_033 2g9a0328_48800935713_o Alameda-8 st-michael-cave-206_39633561791_o img_3001_44603393311_o 20171214_155709_38346299864_o img_0734_28129695369_o img_4624_23521817248_o 2g9a5857_32383637740_o img_4259_36329340034_o 2g9a6122_31077411616_o_31078854346_o img_2137_36326681254_o 2g9a5268_25325629009_o img_2290_36349046873_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-43_30661182550_o 2g9a7264_29750655951_o 2g9a9520_28856841304_o 2g9a9671_29372753262_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-32 Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-76 Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
