restauracin-cementerio-witham-10_25384698391_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_9351_28984555297_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9703160194_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-this-side-up_9703030360_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival46_14277789098_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii02_21028453870_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_0678_21585796822_o la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_24378116892_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-10_9224812532_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-9_25062343246_o strongmen-201336_10019260593_o 1886-Sellos-Gibraltar-sobreimpreso-Bermuda 2g9a1971_49048524188_o 2g9a0895_48805746648_o cruise-liners_39603813482_o img_0160_43064727984_o img_4806-after_39603798092_o st-michaels-cave-4_27855708499_o img_4578_48714310107_o dscf7816_44550418232_o img_2394_44635569021_o img_0146_42144361792_o img_0741_38822718450_o 08-may-2017-37visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34737757105_o 2g9a9381_32228015691_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-5_31299676994_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-39_31992468612_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-1_29314695200_o 2g9a5889_30746101090_o_31001134811_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-94_29314625790_o 2g9a5069_30925484246_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-39_30927267476_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-6_30828743591_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-35_30843308786_o 2g9a7191_29207195533_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275181180_o img_9601_26532962996_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. festival-internacional-de-la-cancin-de-gibraltar_17317927779_o 2g9a2159_27253037286_o img_2623_24988155492_o 2015_09_14__0161_21236002718_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-12_9289336665_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY Gibraltar, 25 septiembre 2013.
