181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-38_26168005260_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_0019_20231836686_o 20150911_134915090_ios_22120611474_o skywalk-gibraltar-9-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273842135_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival39_14277745239_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23005880754_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival51_15145308876_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-13_24461806473_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0174_15435565781_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-06_24398436285_o 2g9a0463_26247296533_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach img_4638_31174604217_o Royal-British-Legion 2g9a0928_48806240282_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente33_12249030785_o img_4125_20919933358_o changing-of-the-guard-the-convent-0418_24765653487_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-26 royal-engineers-2_25762658148_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131154337_o img_9138_26588944419_o_38310539596_o national-day-panorama2_48714140956_o img_0505_36342252551_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402220170_o 2g9a5947_30306893113_o_31114929135_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354089003_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-41_25327021529_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978714186_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-10_26935102685_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37168279025_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-16_15513090671_o img_3731_36349112103_o ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-01_15171091839_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
