160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22718570896_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-565_22123268403_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_8495_20090064841_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-145_22745453835_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-642_22754531371_o 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar27_14803167427_o inmaculada-fotos-23112014-02_15905986988_o cola-peatonal-salida-de-gibraltar-23072015-04_19775844498_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23029564020_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - Candidates from across both parties took time off for a quick lunch as they continued their walk abouts between polling station.Acting Governor Alison Macmilan was also observed visiting polling stations in the company of Presiding Officer Paul Martinez.Others involved in monitoring the progress of the voting has been Unite whose senior committee were on a walk about between polling stations. fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-15_17176912790_o img_8849_19953406378_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26902335286_o 2019-International-Womens-Day MM180007 2g9a0608_26817576496_o 2g9a2976_49094439821_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_002_12193605043_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_25004218717_o 2g9a9855_50032694111_o img_7504_38925219504_o img_5109_48919070083_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-15_47644436422_o img_1488_43916117684_o img_8205_42790070520_o img_1668_43916353844_o img_1764_42825162890_o img_5409_41421462875_o img_7306_34736949056_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-14_33659896683_o 2g9a9301_29519580424_o img_2323_36349036413_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-25_30763272102_o 2g9a9312_29448012696_o 123932_29462633586_o img_5165_28857223163_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-10_15758188217_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
