A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. restauracin-cementerio-witham-14_25110018919_o line-wall-road-gibraltar_22727199182_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. desde-la-parte-alta-del-pen-se-divisa-frica_22116404714_o 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar04_14731959348_o img_3733_34086397992_o img_0411_45389529274_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii31_21190233916_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-27_9225450116_o img_9082_19954526138_o otra-instantnea-del-pintor-junto-a-sus-cuadros_17494945828_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868058131_o img_0685_21410198539_o img_0690_21409275438_o img_0523_22296010243_o img_9968_21468037385_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976531205_o entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea1-13_11213306073_o strongmen-201371_10018937715_o 2g9a1159_48951598628_o 7u3a5857_49426045967_o gib-view-9_39603221682_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-16 alameda-gardens-7_39633174641_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131067056_o 2g9a5358_48726176816_o 2g9a4545_48714142751_o img_4114-1_30891438077_o img_9604_31008265448_o img_3561_34196602626_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-9_31980778692_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-69_28979552354_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31349011641_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941929293_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941934763_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-90 Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-61_20999238500_o 2g9a1628_26964555950_o img_9046_25957174493_o recepcin-de-la-conferencia-en-el-san-roque-club_20803062363_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno26_10967350023_o img_7657_20676027664_o img_7810_21287956172_o Regimiento Real de Gibraltar gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3763_17818019929_o
