15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-3_26374734711_o img_0126_20263917161_o cola-peatonal-salida-de-gibraltar-23072015-02_19341248914_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. img_9984_43202788354_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival11_14277869149_o img_8929_20116542766_o 7u3a9403_49597828772_o default 2018-HMS-Queen-Elizabeth MM180007 2g9a0463_26247296533_o 2g9a0421_48800933228_o cervantes-05 sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165215504_o 25B4B61 entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-3_11213199744_o gibraltar-eslovaquia15_10967412605_o 7u3a5082_49336691431_o 7u3a5849_49425350298_o img_5815_49085937868_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-2 main-street-0437_24765661627_o P1080697 2g9a0590_48919805177_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-32_47697575171_o dscf7804_42790063810_o 2g9a8366_46634162481_o img_8961_38333087202_o_38310529476_o img_1780_36605216850_o OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA img_9573_44881504251_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-29_32129382315_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-71_38490770676_o img_0507_36479615025_o 2g9a5318_30926031856_o 2g9a4571_30827337921_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-23_30280682513_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26088168001_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day32_15014955628_o 1_7U3A4525 Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
