Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20-agosto-2014-colas-de-salida-de-gibraltar01_14800920339_o img_3998_15641861643_o img_4824_41863369431_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703065834_o world-music-festival-2013-poster_9222652623_o img_0738_21597048415_o 2g9a0335_48800935673_o strongman-en-casemates_9997776303_o Familias-esperando-para-verse-de-un-lado-al-otro-de-la-frontera.-Fotografia-expuesta-en-Closure. 2g9a1974_49048523953_o img_0147_41972510180_o 2g9a2062_49049237522_o Monos-3 img_4913_25762440958_o Alameda-12 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-23 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114554882_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131157187_o 2g9a4669_48714142816_o img_5436_41600440874_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-158_24674707528_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-11_32022616181_o 08-may-2017-4visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895414504_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-5_30801732334_o img_0256_36342187771_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-22_34309886052_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354050513_o 2g9a6127_31077404666_o_31114931915_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026150951_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-20_30790960111_o img_2348_37020625501_o 123283_29416809541_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27799936156_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26613213141_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 2g9a2130_27207946506_o img_9007_24113055529_o 2015_09_14__0243_21432041471_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY img_8124_21111488639_o fuegos-artificiales-como-colofn-del-da-nacional-de-gibraltar-2015_22718929266_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day47_15201109282_o
