160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22121850274_o buzn-de-tiempos-del-rey-jorge-vi-en-gibraltar_22740784455_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20-agosto-2014-colas-de-salida-de-gibraltar10_14964625206_o img_6593_35154402670_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_27712734998_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_25004424367_o 2g9a0496_48800937273_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-6_32513496236_o 31-de-mayo-ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho04_14316110555_o gibraltar-eslovaquia13_10967669393_o 7u3a5753_49425351728_o Mezquita-30 2g9a4218_48230716807_o img_3960_45831064451_o img_4742_48714311172_o img_4110_31960326808_o img_9355_31008101638_o 7U3A2382 img_8235_29664841897_o img_5427_41421467015_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-138_24674711168_o img_0721_28129694239_o img_8995_26588603349_o_26590189039_o img_8823_24494305578_o 08-may-2017-14visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34353151830_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-31_32141119365_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-47_31992467822_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354045713_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36996842742_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318388382_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-3_30880606196_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-55_30828718831_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-34_30578367120_o 108918_29207861510_o 114245_29496711125_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-14 2g9a9528_27262521303_o 2g9a9965_27798208181_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a0147_26882584271_o img_2569_24479546963_o 2g9a2130_27207946506_o 2015_09_14__0195_21432174621_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-26_9289276801_o 015_20124196870_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-42_20570005130_o img_2330_20317962051_o Gibraltar, 25 septiembre 2013.
