horadelplanetagibraltar5_13495633003_o conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_40401088661_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9868_48907304793_o 7u3a9816_50033001782_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23029564020_o colas-frontera-de-gibraltar-11-noviembre-20144_15579289870_o img_0077_43872607512_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-88_28815935944_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0165-bw_15253259780_o 2g9a0400_48800937018_o festival-literario-gibraltar06_10497159463_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002404168_o img_9448_42123273581_o 1_img_0123_43064738704_o ocean-village_39602715792_o Mezquita-30 Punta-Europa-4 img_5386_48919811727_o img_0140-1_31960316628_o img_3543_36982592303_o img_4145_37023368741_o el-ministro-principal-de-gibraltar-fabin-picardo_37651611504_o untitpanorama1_36623856830_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876085101_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959238975_o 130447_29496691285_o img_5033_28859017183_o img_5105_28857532983_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417184165_o joseph-garca-viceministro-principal-de-gibraltar-el-9-feb-2016-durante-un-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24914999045_o 2g9a9342_27262519743_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
