manifestacin-por-una-frontera-humanitaria-09_12360179453_o desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_44793080194_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-en-el-cuarto-comit-de-la-onu_43397142080_o img_3432_34243088545_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9703145434_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703065834_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii16_21029722339_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii31_21190233916_o 2013-Endangered-Animals-III-Set 2019-Leonardo-da-Vinci portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-14_40133903872_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0114_15438414642_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-27_37623774272_o 1_img_0061_41972488620_o img_9554_42077116202_o 7u3a5130_49336690681_o 2g9a8862_48826781552_o main-street-2410_38924276374_o alameda-gardens-12_24765500227_o panorama-3_24765451327_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114462426_o 2g9a4598_48714142351_o img_0243_30891443107_o img_1689_36166372914_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-12_38627528590_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31464570915_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354047593_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-9_30962849735_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29455742862_o img_5135_29399667311_o img_9505_26493026201_o 2g9a9780_27596464760_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
