Vistas de Gibraltar restauracin-cementerio-witham-28_25451433346_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Line Wall Road Polling station where tensions were high at one point this morning) - Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 2g9a9407_48907561353_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-122_22756702961_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. skywalk-gibraltar-11-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273841895_o img_9339_43202804384_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 gibraltar-music-festival-2013-emili-sande_9703010336_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar34_10382628033_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival01_14981729787_o img_8861_19520491373_o img_9038_19518767224_o img_5238_33634014233_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_24190846560_o img_0483_22498728747_o img_2731_44650726015_o img_0715_21409022340_o jebel-sahara-2-el-cnel-cte-badr-entrega-una-placa-al-cte-de-las-ffaa-britnicas-en-gibraltar_22725318789_o university-panorama-2_21281104679_o Spitfire-75th-Anniversary 7u3a9590_49901121177_o gib-night-1_39633165281_o Monos-31 Monos-43 1_Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-17 2g9a4499_48714307747_o img_1535_44635087371_o img_9630_43969757315_o img_0196_28318278628_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-22_31562038491_o img_0447_36479606205_o 2g9a5798_32383640370_o 1_17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32217923562_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31949828333_o 2g9a4518_30280742744_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off a-dsc_5624_19250409599_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off img_2919_21772863472_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-41_20677983394_o Kingston-7 2g9a8749_51682128890_o BP200031 Fabian-Picardo-2
