Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech restauracin-cementerio-witham-11_25451427916_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20150911_101826203_ios_22730876542_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-602_22742992355_o 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar06_14803145478_o Schoolchildren and parents were made to wait to cross the road on the Gibraltar side over 20-30 minutes at a time as Spanish border controls forced the authorities in Gibraltar to implement traffic controls. The delays were caused by The Policia Nacional holding pedestrian back from crossing to their Customs zone. img_3404_33432755993_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar32_10382425354_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-38_17157049707_o img_8954_19520140694_o img_9024_20142712895_o img_0817_21409167420_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16199049968_o 2g9a4927_48875162757_o strongmen-201374_10018923446_o 2g9a0430_48800936718_o img_4217_21081471986_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-16_23803344398_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-4 2g9a8776_48826780442_o img_8581_38737100725_o Alameda-21 img_4111_31960315188_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-21_31299671614_o img_9803_31008312038_o img_9490_35393043563_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_0363_36479589625_o actividades-paralelas-al-open-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_31880166513_o 2g9a6098_30999556571_o_31078854596_o img_3847_36991613022_o 2g9a7201_29205876064_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-114_29314611790_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941928963_o 102215_28871939194_o a-dsc_5329_18816015803_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26075036393_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-17_15943926355_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9466_27839934886_o 2g9a0177_26951080795_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24414606711_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno07_10967187206_o 19-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20708688855_o fabian-picardo-en-los-cursos-de-verano-de-san-roque-16072015-04_19558580038_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3751_17977811936_o 9-mayo-2014-visita-a-gibraltar-del-secretario-de-estado-britnico-daniel-alexander-con-ocasin-del-da-de-europa_13981607920_o BP200031 fabin-picardo-ministro-principal-gibraltar-10_9222247861_o
