As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-20_20081781232_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar18_10382445414_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez15_12102549656_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival29_14461189771_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival15_15168088912_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26902336076_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868058991_o 2g9a2980_49094629367_o 2g9a0928_48806240282_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente16_12249631326_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-31_37623773442_o img_9437_42123274791_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-34_37623772632_o 7u3a9601_49901121892_o 7u3a5821_49425351433_o evacuation-monument-0475_39634006581_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-30 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153472_o dscf7903_30729837628_o r3wire-varski-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-17_43072432100_o img_8961_38333087202_o_38310529476_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-6_38627529030_o img_1388_36849704982_o img_2021_36849699502_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-36_30880580326_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354093843_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29455744592_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565280445_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26062049792_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
