A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar31_10382453795_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez23_12102521446_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival07_14277900670_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival05_14981717367_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival20_15168446215_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii23_21028593968_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii73_21028281910_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25466799046_o 31-de-mayo-ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho16_14129477520_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_15766684423_o gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-13_12865007524_o 2g9a3958_49336225728_o Monos-20 P1080672 2g9a2091_48706249136_o 2g9a4225_48230715982_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131101643_o 2g9a5331_48726175831_o img_0159_45781930052_o img_9630_43969757315_o img_8161_29664842007_o img_1642_43726050505_o img_0767_26036935798_o img_8935_24493372478_o_38310548226_o img_7222_34614667512_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-26_36750954840_o_37027014961_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978705376_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026135481_o img_2345_37163009305_o 2g9a5268_25325629009_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-37_25327023349_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-23_30280682513_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-19_26935104625_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-25 Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
