Vistas de Gibraltar 181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-703_22122710503_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22696990074_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25492906955_o img_9919_43921161681_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-40_29151480040_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-41_25062302416_o img_7584_35347377990_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25248543033_o 2015-RAF-Squadrons-IV default img_0498_22294327434_o gracias-sanitarios_49847142392_o 1_img_0055_41972489800_o university-21_39633679241_o 7u3a9609_49901121847_o Monos-57 img_8362_24765363557_o dscf7845_44550416902_o 7U3A2468 img_9487_42792483980_o 2-bob-peliza-mews_23521833618_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-8_32010697541_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31349012731_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36331782314_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-104_30846251072_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-18_26234660725_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-74_21195197961_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
