A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. lanchas-policia-gibraltar-_9222240553_o 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar13_14989737105_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-08_9222660985_o img_9024_20142712895_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions regiment-freedom-of-city-0099-bw_15439625722_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 7u3a9312_49597082293_o img_4641_32242472628_o img_2682_44650713315_o 2g9a0251_48801280246_o 7u3a5707_49426043512_o Monos-27 2g9a2003_49048516423_o Southport-gates-5 2g9a6802_48204117387_o img_2964_44603393511_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-178_24674699358_o img_0778_39877391692_o 08-may-2017-4visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895414504_o img_9461_35393046013_o img_2254_36349059223_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-59_29495028072_o 2g9a6073_31113396335_o_31078854966_o 2g9a4574_30827336691_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-57_30828717531_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959238345_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565259745_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-59 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26652388596_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-19_24914819406_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-24_20566180533_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
