181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto policia-gibraltar-02_9225047962_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20150911_151438431_ios_22730430662_o img_4827_40964775715_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-20_9225448120_o 7u3a9390_49597579546_o repatriacin-de-nacionales-britnicos-desde-marruecos-covid-19_49870672176_o Endangered-Animals henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201421_15437105739_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-18_19901022972_o 2g9a4963_48875161982_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16360719866_o 2g9a0374_48800936123_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente21_12249491304_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-17_32513498536_o sir-david-steel_50032130168_o 2g9a1159_48951598628_o 7u3a5218_49336694376_o img_5774_49085934698_o cruise-liners_39603813482_o img_5223_48919600456_o img_0162_30891439257_o img_1232_36605113180_o img_1496_29696604497_o unled_panorama1_36832819316_o 2g9a9464_31505851874_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-10_31299674934_o img_0513_36479612435_o 2g9a5873_31113484035_o_31001126961_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37168291225_o 2g9a5212_30873134061_o 2g9a5378_30845371732_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-7_30846320482_o 2g9a9267_29448114706_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-16_26329399014_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25551864273_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26062053432_o 2g9a0171_26882523611_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
