Vistas de Gibraltar Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-11_9222314331_o img_8423_20076596992_o vehculos-hacen-cola-para-entrar-en-gibraltar_9458058243_o 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar07_14803143458_o img_3374_34086335542_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival22_14463055252_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival28_14277810418_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 7u3a6478_49454485301_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-3_28816111994_o img_0746_20974173734_o 2g9a0521_26851689225_o 2g9a4925_48875162927_o 2g9a0316_48801427967_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976654525_o 2g9a0905_48806239117_o 251DBF1 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-36_37623771872_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente20_12249622396_o img_9478_41222425125_o 2g9a8862_48826781552_o Monos-1 img_5122_48919595951_o rita-ora-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-12_44833869342_o img_1540_43916089424_o img_9969_42190714451_o img_9122_26588973269_o_26590180889_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-50_32022595041_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36331777524_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354071583_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-1_30880607876_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-83 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24206822965_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-58bn_21051012298_o 31-de-mayo-ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho25_14314244472_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
