Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech img_6510_20258042755_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-204_22557459640_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_3393_34112867541_o img_4883_41820479742_o img_9369_42112032180_o img_0566_44297155450_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii65_21190156286_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742371653_o HMS-Forth-10 open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_15766682923_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente24_12249046875_o img_0090_42877262545_o P1080672 P1080600 Southport-gates-8 wellington-front0442_27855615469_o img_3909-1_45106515714_o img_9795_44830682372_o img_2332_26972679258_o img_0789_39737053065_o img_9510_35361473394_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-72_29495008862_o 2g9a5961_30746302890_o_30747661200_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-7_30879411105_o 124296_29462632706_o 126766_29207832040_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221930844_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-5 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26679092445_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23838989169_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-17_23129285749_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-08_21187336825_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
