160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_25529341087_o 20150911_101826203_ios_22730876542_o img_0013_20071490779_o el-telefrico-o-cablecar-es-la-forma-ms-cmoda-de-subir-a-la-parte-alta-del-pen-de-gibraltar_22713622466_o gibraltar-en-el-cuarto-comit-de-la-onu_44298895405_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-gabrielle-aplin_9702988984_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-26_9225450908_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25400096701_o la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_24378112042_o img_5346_34402436926_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201412_15624603862_o 25-JUN3 2g9a0285_48801427107_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-31_19287584903_o 2g9a0401_48801283111_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente29_12249214633_o university-22_27855821889_o strongmen-201344_10019075934_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-32_37623773272_o img_9576_41403097644_o 2g9a9878_50032156553_o 7u3a5775_49426045167_o P1080660 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131160342_o img_9586_44881500081_o img_7173_34776877175_o img_9057_38333196102_o_24494942398_o 2g9a5318_30926031856_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026134531_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-92_22784238698_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959237535_o 2g9a9300_29373770072_o 2g9a9318_29482389665_o 127753_29416792321_o 000-a-dsc_6081_19250262519_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-11_15943931125_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
