A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 001_20071495559_o img_0250_19637095203_o 7u3a9816_50033001782_o 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar09_14731944468_o img_4006_16259955051_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16377612311_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16379332395_o img_9376_43202801714_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar12_10382497846_o charo-lpez-la-lnea-de-la-concepcin-espaa-segundo-premio_14033456174_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-44_28818214903_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_5317_34059171360_o 2018-RAF-Centenary 2g9a4925_48875162927_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-12_31742539273_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-03_19913598751_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-14_18949660573_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-25_19574912381_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho01_14314277832_o 2g9a1114_48952341577_o 2g9a2020_49048528868_o rooke-1_25761941028_o 2g9a4242_48230643236_o img_4542_48713813948_o 7U3A2476 img_9466_44160742804_o img_0224_28318269758_o img_8735_26036950178_o 2g9a9424_32308844776_o img_2266_36326622064_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-54_28979561854_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-120_29494981612_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959238165_o 2g9a7317_29750652991_o 2g9a7417_29205888734_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25551865203_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201430_15628237047_o img_8728_24398183631_o img_2996_21596314738_o DE-I-A2 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-34_16940385243_o Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cross of Sacrifice, Gibraltar. 2g9a6494_51343438704_o gibraltar-defence-police_48859710036_o rueda-de-prensa-resolucin-comisin-ue09_10967630386_o
