conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_38590515980_o 2g9a9463_48908098101_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_8550_19463754733_o el-de-cruceros-es-un-sector-turstico-en-alza-en-gibraltar_22118173633_o skywalk-gibraltar-10-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367547850_o 20-agosto-2014-colas-de-salida-de-gibraltar12_14800934979_o img_0358_44296999010_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival17_14463208112_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_9026_20134649532_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions regiment-freedom-of-city-0151_15253268060_o 2g9a4908_48874962841_o 2g9a0236_48801426377_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-15_37398193500_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-32_13967048519_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-23_23803343268_o 7u3a9619_49901121817_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165321684_o 7u3a9643_49900813071_o 7u3a5234_49336695886_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114554022_o 2g9a4532_48713811653_o dscf7939_44600544421_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-5_47644435322_o img_0761_39737057655_o img_9175_38364380041_o_37651612754_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31427020276_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354074133_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-2_30879586365_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026143271_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959237345_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941941903_o 95963_28871954004_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799754666_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_26808903004_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-14_26935102185_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-19_24914819406_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-60bn_21228477932_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
