A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_3996_16235880376_o img_4873_27994659758_o img_0472_45202130235_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival17_14463208112_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-08_9222660985_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival58_14981743848_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25576706810_o img_5338_34284284592_o 2018-Gibraltar-Cannons 2g9a0839_48806238647_o 2g9a4911_48875163567_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-30_19908523575_o img_4280_20486536373_o img_9644_40316197620_o 2g9a1967_49049024396_o jumpers-bastion-1_38736808885_o img_5774_49085934698_o 2g9a2122_48705915668_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114498723_o img_0288-1_30891437587_o img_1740_36193472203_o img_3133_40937784101_o img_9285_44830589932_o img_3240_40043115515_o img_2059_36624023150_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-24_31331049223_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-52_32141128905_o img_2687_24956720390_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-103_29494973242_o img_3781_36991652802_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318395212_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-77_29524294411_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-20_30790811881_o 2g9a7223_29797866616_o 2g9a7303_29750654571_o 2g9a7462_29750673341_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-43_21187385505_o 000-crowning-dsc_6134_18814191134_o img_8992_24186139460_o img_8683_24456361586_o img_4368_20545897241_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3650_17818045909_o BP200031
