180607 - Gibraltar realiza trabajos en enclaves y en el litoral turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-569_22718343566_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-605_22120218534_o 20150911_151729741_ios_22755158331_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16191927990_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-18_19468726353_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23242828801_o img_0293_45202121665_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival16_14277969528_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival25_14981861847_o 2g9a0262_48800935283_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25782337651_o 2g9a0928_48806240282_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_010_12193939296_o strongman-en-casemates_9997656265_o 7u3a9633_49900298003_o 2g9a1138_48952341177_o Monos-3 Monos-22 img_7257_39633895501_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131067151_o 2g9a4261_48230641536_o img_4619_48714310567_o img_9635_43969754385_o img_1152_36166368364_o dscf7904_44600538511_o img_2917_42792489950_o img_3060_26064767037_o img_2407_26972646648_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770650340_o 2g9a9301_29519580424_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-110_29314615090_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-20_30916508855_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275177750_o img_5089_29191050250_o img_9513_26493006921_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-9_26234664635_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
