turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-598_22555082280_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-378_22756274671_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-yasmin-levy-mediterranean-andalusian-orchestra-ashkelon-29_9225501066_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868058401_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_6793_34732167833_o OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA 2g9a0550_26757794462_o 2g9a0201_48801426717_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-22_19574919741_o img_4222_20919779358_o img_9605_41403087684_o 2g9a9698_50032952832_o 7u3a0161_50032952942_o img_5705_49086660242_o gorhams-cave-3_39633657121_o commonwealth-park-11_27855893549_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-26 dav img_5432_48919073293_o img_4759_48714145181_o 2g9a8473_46581731172_o img_8961_38333087202_o_38310529476_o img_3562_34196602236_o actividades-paralelas-al-open-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_32539802792_o 2g9a9432_32228011581_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-11_37148808055_o_36354891993_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-40_29605135895_o 2g9a5731_31949652413_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-7_30578377870_o img_2360_36349031843_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221948704_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-3_24645632140_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-29_21000568529_o 000-crowning-dsc_6113_1_19436683705_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9523_27596416140_o img_9087_25955087744_o rueda-de-prensa-de-fabin-picardo-y-joseph-garca-en-bruselas_27187092956_o gibraltar-national-day_006_9716544735_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26250766870_o img_7962_21272229536_o panorama_gibraltar-6_21397248376_o Kingston-23 3819-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20520659858_o 1_7U3A4618 7U3A4795 7U3A4824 2g9a6492_51342922948_o
