20150911_151612083_ios_22122859563_o colas-peatonales-24-febrero-20147_12757552835_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar02_10382459826_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii30_20593813854_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 2015-YouStamps-2015 img_4658_32242475118_o 2g9a4917_48874962376_o img_9640_41222384875_o 2g9a0352_48800932988_o img_9721_21275020840_o 2g9a9698_50032952832_o 2g9a1070_48951598278_o 7u3a5069_49336225053_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-21 P1080671 ragged-staff-2_27855465879_o shipping-7_39603071682_o 2g9a6827_48204069506_o 2g9a8393_46634162131_o img_0190_30891440217_o img_3834_45106519544_o img_2970_42792489170_o img_9803_31008312038_o img_0201_28318274358_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_1467_36213042373_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-5_38627529170_o img_3548_34196604356_o img_3743_37163084935_o 2g9a6153_30306638643_o_31001137221_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-43_30661182550_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-23_30661235100_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-31_30282253144_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565259105_o 108337_29207862560_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799746966_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-12_16220180671_o ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-14_15171142540_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201447_15811530261_o 2g9a9466_27839934886_o img_9236_26534105336_o panorama_gibraltar-3_21431921671_o fuegos-artificiales-como-colofn-del-da-nacional-de-gibraltar-2015_22731418922_o Kingston-35 Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cross of Sacrifice, Gibraltar. 2g9a6449_51342694426_o
