A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. paisajes-la-bahia-gibraltar-01_9222264035_o paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-12_9225090010_o 20150911_132759391_ios_22729584052_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-663_22122331423_o panormica-desde-la-parte-alta-del-pen_22750648491_o img_9977_43872559072_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-7_24461816153_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-81_29331731022_o img_6605_35154402070_o 2g9a0459_26247307513_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-18_40133899952_o 2g9a0538_26246271154_o img_4674_46113659101_o 2g9a0287_48801281171_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-7_19574879841_o img_4217_21081471986_o img_9638_38737417245_o P1080636 2g9a4714_48717217083_o dscf7859_44600529141_o 2g9a2047_48705913448_o img_3228_40937377451_o 2g9a4491_48713812588_o img_2422_26972643808_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-9_33820113778_o img_0755_26036934728_o img_0309-1_45106513714_o img_0817_35671158393_o img_9646_43969764925_o 2g9a5187_30961477885_o img_9797_44881515241_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-12_24573482099_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-13_16035939469_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26250763670_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354048013_o 2g9a0286_26882485751_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354065513_o 2015_09_14__0146_21423857985_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
