A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-music-festival-2013-emili-sande_9703002222_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25492904535_o 7u3a9425_49597579181_o hospital-de-campaa_49726264493_o img_9963_20846964183_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-29_39455300364_o 2g9a0300_48801426847_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-08_19720463148_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-02_9224810194_o 1_img_0062_41972487710_o 2g9a3995_49336228918_o img_0201_41972494410_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-25 P1080658 panorama-10_24765449147_o 2g9a2093_48706416452_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-26_33820114238_o img_3231_40895450802_o img_1817_36605211090_o 20171214_094350_24195321837_o stormzy-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-6_44163867514_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-23_31305172970_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-19_38627527970_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-50_30828721161_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354073593_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275179410_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36996841542_o 108918_29207861510_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026133451_o 000-a-dsc_6088_19410353186_o img_2179_36973619436_o 2g9a9736_27262397454_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a0295_26345456384_o img_2514_24973068372_o img_8762_24399504011_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_23870184383_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
