Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-16_26348578752_o 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-32_26414928826_o img_0230_20070036200_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. img_3752_34086393212_o img_3800_34086384292_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-84_29151405440_o img_9416_28984558207_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente27_12249479774_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-yasmin-levy-mediterranean-andalusian-orchestra-ashkelon-26_9222716441_o img_9436_27252737687_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-36_9222684651_o 7u3a9629_49901121697_o 2g9a0343_48801281571_o cruise-liners-6_39603807432_o 2g9a0462_48801283976_o 2g9a8418_32759668068_o 2g9a0869_48805745493_o img_1764_42825162890_o img_4726_48714144931_o img_3078_40043452025_o img_8235_29664841897_o img_5453_41600438144_o 7U3A2469 img_9940_40383749500_o 08-may-2017-5visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895413304_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-1_31643380845_o img_0548_36311351962_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354075493_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31349009571_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27383411476_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-7_26142219192_o 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-19_19955891912_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-13_15516254545_o 2g9a9929_27874097905_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26523606955_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26250754010_o gibraltar-national-day_022_9719751118_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-47_20135384204_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-21_16938262114_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4192_18001012322_o Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cross of Sacrifice, Gibraltar. z-image2_50825359261_o 7u3a1218_51682129885_o Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-39-Christian-Santos-Alcalde-de-Gibraltar
