A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_40401094261_o 20150911_135314190_ios_22717156276_o conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_40401121821_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii29_21029682609_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_5266_34313435421_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-38_25088640615_o 2018-Gibraltar-Year-of-the-Dog intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_42178240204_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48720880791_o partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-14_14755379262_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16199049968_o img_0188_41972496210_o fb25b0d5db8a7419686f3332b40edc83 img_5774_49085934698_o alameda-gardens-3_27855287699_o shipping-1_27855091649_o 2g9a8364_46581736532_o img_4608_48713811103_o img_4046_45831070111_o r3wire-varski-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-110_44163879204_o img_3154_26064428717_o img_3017_40937853541_o 20171214_155709_38346299864_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-85_38515439422_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-72_31765982710_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 2g9a9165_30063591511_o img_3541_36982597513_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-15_29605156015_o 2g9a5125_30961359425_o 2g9a5132_30925617766_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-82_30661165880_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-51_30828720631_o 2g9a9300_29373770072_o 113436_28871990154_o 121359_29462637766_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221932184_o img_9596_25956055963_o a-dsc_5669_19250394499_o img_9193_26287242490_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony. A short farewell ceremony at the Parliament lobby was followed by a quick farewell at the city Hall, defer he inspected troops at the Naval Base. He then boarded HMC Seeker where a 17 gun salute bid him farrwell. Gibraltar, 25 septiembre 2013.
