A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_4833_40056265270_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival02_14484528453_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-37_9225462516_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival22_14463055252_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival30_14981846977_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25466799236_o hospital-de-campaa_49726814116_o img_0482_22891101906_o 2g9a0697_48805745128_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16199285850_o 2g9a0426_48801429067_o 7u3a9673_49900812751_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843225002_o 7u3a5758_49426045592_o img_8444_24765364217_o gib-view-9_39603221682_o heritage157_39603312472_o 2g9a2004_48706246746_o 2g9a5331_48726175831_o img_0221_30891444117_o img_4976_48919598056_o img_3830_45781930222_o img_4655_48714310362_o img_3856_30891441707_o dscf7819_42790063290_o img_2945_43693498215_o img_9206_38309518716_o_24494935528_o img_1474_36213027573_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-20_36750959710_o_36354890713_o 2g9a5916_30999441671_o_31001133401_o 2g9a5960_30306898193_o_31001132281_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-59_25326923589_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-79_30846266952_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959245905_o a-dsc_5986_19436459205_o img_2557_24723530949_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. festival-internacional-de-la-cancin-de-gibraltar_17502080002_o img_8723_24372303902_o img_2954_21596347078_o img_7728_21272413406_o 9-mayo-2014-visita-a-gibraltar-del-secretario-de-estado-britnico-daniel-alexander-con-ocasin-del-da-de-europa_14168309294_o img_4352_20513411596_o BP200031
