A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22744606985_o 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-32_26414928826_o laciudaddegibraltar 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23005884534_o img_8820_20133507122_o la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_24486404425_o university-27_39633682371_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-16_32175359800_o strongmen-201377_10018902636_o img_4128_21107815155_o img_4133_20841544324_o img_9588_42077109442_o 180731 - Visita a la nueva central eléctrica y planta de GNL 7u3a5167_49336912537_o 7u3a5197_49336692391_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-12 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114555172_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-9_33820113778_o img_0196_28318278628_o img_2935_43884142484_o img_9003_38309252586_o_38334708322_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-73_38490783426_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-17_32010696521_o img_0262_36479577025_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-74_29495007012_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354091903_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-71_25326916309_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-21_30282259964_o 2g9a9359_29447961116_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-31 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-70_20566225433_o a-dsc_5939_18815861413_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
